Celebrate Ontario Public Library Week
From October 19 to 25, the Brantford Public Library joins libraries across the province in celebrating Ontario Public Library Week, an annual event that recognizes the vital role libraries play in enriching lives and building strong communities. This year’s theme, “Libraries for Life,” highlights how libraries support learning, creativity, and growth at every stage of life.
To mark the celebration, we are launching Kermode Education, a new e-learning platform that helps users build critical thinking and digital literacy skills. Featuring 16 interactive courses on topics like cyberbullying, AI ethics, and online safety, it combines tutorial videos, guided learning, and inquiry-based lessons. With its innovative AI engine, Kermode empowers learners to evaluate information, recognize bias, and navigate the online world with confidence.
During Ontario Public Library Week, visitors are invited to stop by the Main and St. Paul branches to share their “library love.” Add your voice to the community message board by filling out a heart-shaped note about why you love the Library.
