**Hoopla loan periods vary. Television episodes and movies go out for 3 days, music goes out for 7 days, and comics and graphic novels go out for 21 days.
***Overdrive audiobooks and ebooks can go out for 7, 14, or 21 days. When you take an item out, you can choose one of the three loan periods.
In-Library Use
There are several MakerSpace and technology items that you can use only in the Library.
Vacation loans
Going on vacation? Ask us about an extended loan period for your materials. Some items cannot be extended, including:
- Bestsellers
- Express DVDs
- Laptops/Wifi Hotspots
- Vox Books
- Sewing Machines
- Technology/Makerspace Items
Renewals
Items can be renewed several ways:
- At either Library location at a service desk or self-checkout machine
- Online by signing into your library account
- By using our Automated Telephone Renewal Service at 519-756-2399. You will need your 4-digit PIN number
- By calling the Library during open hours at 519-756-2220
Holds
Many items can be requested. See the loan periods, item limits, renewals, and holds chart to see if a request can be placed on an item.
A request on an item can be done several ways:
- At either Library location at a service desk or public computer
- Online by signing into your library account
- By calling the Library during open hours at 519-756-2220
Suspending/pausing holds
Going on vacation? Don't miss your holds! Requested items can be suspended/paused so that they do not become available while you are unable to pick them up. Suspending a hold will keep your place on the request list until you resume the hold.
Suspend your holds either through your library account, or by contacting the Library.
Returning items
Items can be returned to either Library location. There are after hours book drops at both Library locations for items returned when the Library is closed. At the Main there are two book drops, one at the front of the Library on Colborne Street and one at the back of the Library on Wharfe Street. The St. Paul Library has one book drop beside the front entrance.
