Campbell, Earl Leroy

L/Cpl. Earl Leroy Campbell was killed in a motorcycle accident in England on January 9, 1943, and was buried in Brookwood Cemetery, Surrey. He had enlisted with the R.C.A.S.C., in September, 1941, and after training at Newmarket and Camp Borden, went overseas during the following spring. Born on May 22, 1922, at Cainsville, Earl never knew his father, who was killed in a plane accident before his son's birth, but in Joseph A. Mathewson he had a stepfather he highly regarded. He went to Moyle's School and will be remembered by many as a youngster who excelled at hockey. He attended the Cainsville United Church and Sunday school. He was employed at the Brantford Cordage Company, Ltd.
