Jenner, Norman Clifford

Pte. Norman Clifford Jenner enlisted with the Toronto Scottish Regiment on June 19, 1941. Three years and a month later, on July 20, 1944, he was to lose his life in the battle of Caen in France, scene of one of the Canadian Army's greatest exploits in the Second Great War. Born in Toronto in 1920, the son of Sgt. William Jenner and Mrs. Jenner, Norman followed the example of patriotism set by his father, who served as an instructor at Petawawa all through the conflict. The family had moved in 1936 to Brantford, where father and son worked together as window cleaners. In 1941, Pte. Jenner was married to Miss Elizabeth Alonzo and then became a member of St. Mary's R. C. Church. Besides his parents and widow, he is survived by his son, Norman.
