Odobas, Keith Earl

Sgt. Keith Earl Odobas, second son of Mr. and Mrs. John Odobas, 9 Bowes Ave., was 18 years of age when he lost his life while flying on October 15, 1944, with the R.C.A.F., over Wilhelmshaven, Germany. His service had begun little more than a year before, when on September 1, 1943, he enlisted, and after training at Lachine, Que., and Mount Pleasant, P.E.I., graduated as an air gunner on March 10, 1944, nine days after his 18th birthday. He then had a further course at Three Rivers, Que., and sailed for England on May 2. Born in Brantford, he was to become an outstanding pupil of Dufferin

School. There, for nine years, he had a perfect attendance and punctuality record, a performance not many youngsters are able to equal. Later, he went on to the Collegiate Institute and Vocational School. He attended Riverdale Baptist Church and Sunday School. The physical qualities that made it possible for him to attain his public school record had a bearing on his leisure time hobby - target shooting. A fine example of healthy Canadian boyhood, he had the good eyes, balance and personal sense of

discipline to attain excellence in this branch of sport.
