Jenner, Frank Edward Arthur

Cpl. Frank Edward Arthur Jenner, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Jenner, John St., Paris, escaped, almost unbelievably from the battle of Dieppe, France, where so many of his comrades in the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry were killed, and where, for a time, he was reported missing, only to die in the service of his country in Normandy on July 26, 1944. It was at the battle of Verrieres, when his unit captured the village and held it against terrific German opposition, that Cpl. Jenner was fatally wounded, and succumbed the following day. Enlisting on April 5, 1940, Cpl. Jenner trained at Hamilton and Camp Borden. Born in Paris, January 20, 1921, Ted, as he was called, attended the Paris Public School. During his school years, he was a good athlete, playing a fine game of hockey and lacrosse. He was also interested in the Cadet Corps. After his school days, he was employed at Woods and Tincknell. He was a member of St. James' Anglican Church.
