Dick, LaVerne John

F/O LaVerne John Dick was officially reported missing following air operations overseas on October 28, 1944. He was popularly known here and was born in Brantford on January 31, 1916. He attended the B.C.I, and V.S. Enlisting in the R.C.A.F., he received his wings as a wireless air gunner at Rivers, Man., in December, 1940, and was commissioned while in Scotland in 1941. In January, 1943, he spent a leave at his home here after completing 30 operational flights and following his return was on several bombing missions. F/O Dick's father was killed in the First Great War and he is mourned by his widow and his mother, Mrs. William Dick.
