Veall, Melvin William

Pte. Melvin William Veall was killed in action July 16, 1944, while serving with the Royal Regiment of Canada, at the age of 24. Melvin enlisted in 1942 with the Queen's York Rangers. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Veall of Paris and had two brothers, John and Allan, in the services. He completed his education in the Paris schools and was an active member of the Baptist Church. In addition to his musical interests, Melvin was a player in the Rural Hockey League. He is buried in the Canadian Military Cemetery at Beny-sur-Mer.
