Greig, Gordon Templeton

P/O Gordon Templeton Greig, brother of Mrs. C. A. Honey, Burford, was lost on April 28, 1944, on air operations over enemy territory. It was his second tour in the service of the R.C.A.F. He is now buried in a cemetery at Antwerpen, near Duerne, Belgium. Born in Saskatoon, Sask., the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Greig, he had been educated in that Western city and had taken up residence in Burford in 1940, and lived there until his enlistment in February, 1943. Trained at Brandon, Trenton and Mont Joli, he graduated as an air gunner and was posted overseas in September. His commission was granted to him while he was serving in England. On the office staff of the Slingsby Manufacturing Company, in Brantford, he had many friends in the city, gained not only in his business hours but in hockey circles, as he played for the Robbins and Myers factory team. He was in his 21st year at the time of his death.
