Chute, Clinton Melville

F/S Clinton Melville Chute, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Chute, 804 Colborne Street, lost his life on active service on May 30, 1942, when the plane in which he was pilot crashed when the starboard motor failed. He was buried in Hertfordshire, England. F/S Chute was born in Dauphin, Man., on February 12, 1921, and was educated at Regina, Sask. He was outstanding as an all-round athlete, particularly at field meets and as a pitcher on the hardball diamond. He enlisted in the R.C.A.F., on his 20th birthday and trained at Brandon and Regina and graduated as a pilot and received his wings at' Calgary in September, 1941. He proceeded overseas during the next month and served in

England until his death.
