Sharpe, William Allison

Pte. William Allison Sharpe was one of the many Paris casualties of the Dieppe raid, August 19, 1942. He died a few hours after being wounded at Rouen and was buried there. He was 22 years old. He enlisted with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry early in the war and had two brothers, Melvin and Donald in the services. "Billy", as he was called, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Sharpe and was born in Paris and attended Paris schools. He married Miss Lona Grummett, Brantford, and had a son, Wayne, born after he left for overseas.
