Davis, H. Stanley

Pte. H. Stanley Davis, a veteran of the First Great War, died November 8, 1942, while serving with the Veterans' Guard of Canada, at Bowmanville, Ont. Fifty-one years of age, Pte. Davis was born in England, where he served with the Worcestershire Yeomanry, of the British Army from 1914 to 1918, seeing action with this unit in Egypt. He came to Canada in 1928, and he farmed in Brant and Oxford counties, coming to Paris in 1940, shortly before his enlistment for the Second Great War. His son, Michael, and his daughter, Suzanne, both members of the armed services, together with his widow, Margaret, survive him.
