Oliver, Robert Reginald (Bob)

F/S Robert Reginald (Bob) Oliver, son of Mr. George Oliver, 80 Park Ave., was 21 years of age when he lost his life over Hampshire, England, in a flying accident while on active service with the R.C.A.F. He now lies in the village cemetery of Thorny Isle, near

Hambleton. Born in Brantford, September 17, 1921, F/S Oliver had spent his entire life here until his enlistment in October, 1940. He had attended Bellview School and the

Collegiate Institute and was also a member of St. Jude's Anglican Church. There was no time for him to become established in any work before his enlistment at the age of 19 in the R.C.A.F. His training as a wireless air gunner was carried on in Toronto, Camp Borden, Calgary and at Paulson, Man., from where he graduated in August, 1941, soon afterwards moving overseas. F/S Oliver's mother passed away in January, 1944.
