Social Services Outreach Worker
Need help finding resources, completing forms, or connecting with community supports?
The Social Service Outreach Worker (SSOW) helps community members access information, referrals, and supports.
The SSOW is available at the Main Branch during scheduled drop-in hours, programs, and community outreach times. Library membership is not required.
How the Social Service Outreach Worker can help:
Finding resources and supports

Connecting with community resources, including food, clothing, showers, hygiene supplies, and other basic needs

Finding mental health and substance use supports

Learning about local programs, services, and community agencies
Forms, applications, and technology support

Completing applications and forms, including government ID, health care, Service Canada, employment, and other programs

Using computers, email, online applications, and job search tools

Making phone calls and connecting with service providers
Information and support

Providing information, referrals, and guidance based on individual needs

Helping explore available options and next steps

Offering a safe and welcoming space to ask questions and talk through challenges

Providing care kits with items such as hygiene supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), and clothing, when available

Drop-In Support
Mondays: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Main Branch – Social Service Outreach Worker Office, First Floor
Meet with the Social Service Outreach Worker without an appointment for information, referrals, and support connecting with community resources.
Application Support Clinic
Tuesdays: 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Main Branch – Social Service Outreach Worker Office, First Floor
Receive support for completing applications, forms, and paperwork related to community services, benefits, identification, and other support programs.
Community Connections
Fridays: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Main Branch – Open Space, Second Floor
Drop in to learn about community resources, ask questions, and connect with local service providers and the Social Service Outreach Worker. Light refreshments are provided.
