Writing activities can yield several intellectual, physiological, and emotional benefits to individuals. Whether you are writing a novel, short story, memoirs or journaling your day to day, writing can be very therapeutic.

Creative Writing

Creative writing is writing that expresses ideas and thoughts in an imaginative way. It is the "art of making things up". Fiction novels, poems, short stories, screenplays, and songs are all considered creative writing. Creative writing exercises can help you build confidence, self expression, thought clarification and improve communication skills.

One of the tips from ghost.org is to improve your writing by editing someone else’s work. Distributed Proofreaders is an online proofreading tool for new e-books. You will proofread one page at a time, as many as you like, as often as you like. You will need to register for a new account and follow beginning instructions.

Storium

Storium is a free online creative writing game for adults where you can write original stories by playing with online friends. Storium builds your skills as a writer, exercises your creative juices, and helps you meet new people. ‘Winning’ this game means writing a great story with other people. You will need to sign up for a free account to play.
