Saturday Share - July 25

Welcome to the Saturday Share! Every other week the Brantford Public Library team is sharing some of their favourite links from the past week. You’ll find links to ideas, apps, tutorials and books and more that we’ve loved!

This week we’ve discovered links that have let us explore beyond our everyday lives. Check out links to dive into nature, encourage your sense of curiosity and capture what a day in the life looks like around the world!

  1. Share your life in a day! On July 25th film your day and you may become part of this global documentary. The purpose of this documentary is to showcase everyday life around the world. The producers are calling it a ‘time capsule of the year 2020’. - Alana
  2. I just brought a shark into my living room! Check out the free Ocean School offered by The National Film Board of Canada which combines breathtaking videos, virtual reality, interactive games and 360 degree experiences to transform how youth engages with the ocean! Kids can dissect a digital cod, get dropped into an underwater video where sharks seem to swim right by, while learning their influence on the ocean, and the ocean's influence on us. Get on your diving suit and tell us what you see! - Kim
  3. Here are some fun escape rooms to work through! These escape rooms are created by Librarians all over the world. Fun for the whole family. - Alana
  4. Ever find yourself wondering about a random fact or question? You’re not the only one! Wonderopolis shares an interesting question everyday, the Wonder of the Day, and then shares facts, resources and videos to answer the Wonder the Day. Search Wonderopolis to answer your questions and discover questions you haven’t even thought to ask! - Anna
