Pick Up Service Starts December 28

The Brantford Public Library will offer a pick-up service during the province-wide shutdown.

The service will be available at both the Main and St. Paul Branch during the shutdown.

The Main Branch will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The St. Paul Branch will be open 9:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and will be closed each day from 12-1 p.m. for lunch.

Customers are not permitted to enter the library during the lockdown. This means the library will not be offering any computer access, study spaces, or printing services.

Customers can reserve items by calling the library at 519-756-2220 or by using their online account. People can still join the library.

Once a person’s items are ready to be picked-up, they will be contacted either through phone or email, depending on their preference. Customers can then pick up items at the front entrance of the library during service hours. No appointment is needed when picking up materials.

Customers are reminded to maintain six feet of distance between themselves and library staff and delay visiting the library if they are feeling unwell, have travelled outside of the country in the previous 14-days, or have come into contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.

Along with books and DVDs, the library will continue to lend MakerSpace items, including sewing machines and coding kits, and Book Club in a Bag kits.

Books and DVDs can be returned to the outside book drops at either branch. MakerSpace items must be returned directly to library staff at Main Branch during opening hours. Book Club in a Bag kits must be returned to staff during opening hours.

Customers can also continue to borrow digital materials, including eBooks, audiobooks and digital magazines, 24/7. Nearly 250,000 of these items were borrowed through the library in 2020.

All research and online learning tools, including Ancestry.com and LinkedIn Learning, continue to be available anytime.

Call the library at 519-756-2220 for more information. Hit the digit “2” to speak to library staff immediately.
